New York

New York city known as the "Big Apple", is the most populous city in America. The city is divided into five boroughs: Queens, Brooklyn, Bronx, Manhattan and Richmond. New York has a very diverse population from ethnic point of view.

Economy

The dominant sector is the financial one with the presence of banks, financial and insurance institutions in the world. Famous are the twin towers were brought down September 11, 2001: two planes collided against the two skyscrapers causing it to fall and more than 5,000 victims.

Important is tourism, attracted by the charm of the city.

Central Park

Central Park opened in 1856, it is the largest park in the district of Manhattan, in New York. It is one of the most popular urban parks in the world and is called the green lung of New York.

Although the park looks natural, it is man-made. The land had originally quarries, depressions, swamps and shacks. Inside today are artificial lakes, extensive hiking trails, two skating rinks, children’s games, huge meadows and boulders to climb formed by rocks as slate.
